AMNESTY DELEGATES MAKE HISTORY; BAG 12 1st CLASS, 20 2ndCLASS UPPER AND 4 BEST GRADUATING STUDENTS AT BENSON IDAHOSA UNIVERSITY

The Presidential Amnesty Programme recorded another milestone in its educational empowerment programme at the Benson Idahosa University, Benin City, Edo state when 12 delegates bagged First Class Division, with another 20 making Second Class Upper Division, while 4 among them came out as best graduating students at the 13th Convocation Ceremony of the university over the weekend. Twenty seven others made Second Class Lower Division.

Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta and Coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Brigadier General Paul Boroh (Rtd) who described the development as heartwarming, commended President Muhammadu Buhari for his foresight sincere concern for the development of the Niger Delta region, saying that education is the best tool for unification among citizens.

According the Amnesty boss, who was represented by Head of Education, Major Kesiena Mowarin (Rtd), “People who are educated are aware of what is right and what is wrong. Their minds work in somewhat similar way. Thus, educated people are united by the sense of thinking and by the sense of right and wrong”.

Adding that “education helps in building dreams, just as it helps a person in analyzing the path which will help him to achieve his dreams”, pointing out that when the youths in the Niger Delta achieve their dreams they will have sense of fulfillment in life.

Gen. Boroh urged the institutions where Amnesty delegates have broken record through their performance to find way of absorbing such high flying delegates, pointing out that the Amnesty educational empowerment programme has given hope to youths in the region. A total of 59 Amnesty delegates graduated in different fields at the 13th Convocation.


The best graduating 1st Class delegates include, Mr. Bolei Gideon, (Department of Agronomy and Environmental Management), Mr. Azebi Oyeikurokaemo Marcodinho, (Geophysics), Miss Febaide Mabel Ebiere, (Banking and Finance) and Miss Guwor Egbedetimi Williams (Sociology and Anthropology).
